Following threats by the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, to shut down all private universities over the protracted strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, yesterday, a prominent Vice Chancellor of a private university in Nigeria charged the students' union body to mediate between the government and ASUU to return normalcy to the country's universities.
He opined that he believed that the executives of the NANS were matured minds and that since the parties that are at logger heads are claiming that they are fighting for the rights of the students, that it was only normal if the students too have a say in the matter.
