House of Rep Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, has said if there is a need
to make extra budgetary provisions for the Federal Government to
resolve the lingering face-off between it and the Academic Staff
Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU), the House would do so.
“Let me use this opportunity to appeal to both the Executive arm and
the authorities of ASUU to quickly resolve the problem. If there is
need for any appropriation, the House will expeditiously assent to it
in the interest of our students and the nation.”
The Speaker spoke in Abuja when he received a briefing on the
update of the ASUU strike from the Aminu Suleiman-led House
Committee on Education.
The House mandated the Education committee to investigate the
face-off by highlighting the areas of conflict and proffer solutions.
Tambuwal urged all parties to consider the interest of the students
and the educational future of the nation.

House of Assembly is more proactive in their contributions in resolving the. ASUU strike than the Senate. Senate blamed the FGN representing for ignorance and indirectly saw ASUU as a trickister who capitalised on the opportunity. Yet expects ASUU to obey her command to call of the strike. Are biological children of our political leaders in the Nig universities? Many of our leaders are double-faced. Only the senator from Adamawa was able to openly admit that amount was not much but appear so because it was allowed to accumuilate. He blamed the FGN for breaching an agreement, punishing ASUU by withholding their salary when she is at fault and waited for strike to listen to ASUU. It is good to pray but going on a pilgrimage is like chjasing rats when ur house is on fire. We voted for Jonathan to continue where the previous govt stopped not relegate past and lesson for political aspirant.
